The Clark Systems Hawk Range Explained

The latest long range, low power Hawk detectors from Clark Systems are for use with vehicle actuated signs, and they all have some common features and benefits, to name a few:

· Long range detection (180m+) means vehicles can be detected at a greater distance.
· Low power, energy efficient operation results in cost savings.
· Wide range of supply voltage (4 to 40V) makes the detector compatible for use with practically any power supply.
· Advanced signal processing provides very accurate detection.
· The detector is easily set for operation with the user selectable speed and sensitivity settings (or range setting on X band) and can be set up to cover detection in one or two lanes.

So, what's the difference and which detector is right for you?

The Hawk 100 is a K band detector, the narrower beam width means receding vehicles are less likely to be detected.

The Hawk 200 is an internal K band detector that has been developed specifically with smaller dimensions to fit inside some of our customers' signs. Although it is smaller, it is still able to detect vehicles at a good range (in excess of 150m).

The Hawk 150 is an X band detector with a unique range limiting feature which allows the user to set the distance at which the vehicle is detected.

The Hawk 250 is an X band OEM detector with the unique range limiting facility.

The Hawk100 and the Hawk150 are boxed detectors. The Hawk 200 and the Hawk 250 are for installation within the sign. If you are looking for a boxed detector then here are a few things you may like to know about our newly developed housing:

The box is made from tough plastics which make it vandal proof and weather proof.
The unit is quick and easy to install as it is compact and lightweight The design includes a built in bracket at the bottom of the detector so it is easy to adjust the tilt angle.

New addition to the Hawk range

After the launch of the new Hawk range of detectors for sign activation, Clark Systems is pleased to announce another addition to the Hawk family.

The Hawk 150 is a long range, X band, above ground radar detector with one very special function that sets it apart from the others... range selection.

This unique range limiting facility means it is possible to select the range at which you would like the vehicle to be detected. This should not be confused with simple sensitivity adjustment as the Hawk 150 only produces an output signal when the target is within the set range. The range is selected via a rotary switch at the back of the unit.

Unlike previous X band detectors the Hawk 150 uses an advanced microwave head which is hugely sensitive and can detect vehicles at long range - the detector can monitor cars at ranges in excess of 200m and detect bicycles at a distance of 100m.

The detector is very accurate as it uses advanced signal processing and is packaged in our new, easy to install box. Alternatively the Hawk 250 is available for internal mounting and is compatible with the legacy product, MVD1001(OEM).

Clark Systems launch new website

To support the latest range of technically advanced radar detectors, the Clark Systems website has been updated and restyled.

The focus has been on creating a visually fresh look whilst remaining informative and easy to navigate.

New range of above ground detectors released

The Clark Systems range of above ground radar detectors have been rebranded and technically improved.

The new range focuses on energy efficiency and improved performance. For example the Hawk series of detectors which are intended for use with variable message signs feature longer range detection.

The Falcons primary use is for motorway queue detection and has been optimised for low power consumption to allow for solar power. Other detectors within the range include the Kestrel for traffic signal control, the Eagle for UTC environments and the Blackbird for pedestrian on- crossing detection. The entire boxed range has been re-packaged in a sleek, lightweight and compact unit which is vandal resistant and easy to install.
